Baby bed and bath time routine
Establishing a good nighttime routine Evie has taken us a while, I’m going to be honest. When you’re a first time parent you read so many articles and hear so many opinions on what you should and should not be doing with your little one, but I’m a big believer in using this as guidance and not gospel, because every baby is different.
We’ve tried a few different timings and techniques, but I wanted to share with you the four “b”s to our nighttime routine.
Evie is obsessed with water and so bath time is definitely her favourite time of the day. She loves to splish and splash her legs in the water, as well as playing with with her rubber duckies, whilst we create a little bit of bath time sensory.
Since Evie was born, I’ve used the Childs Farm bath and body products on her and love this Baby Oaty Bath*. She has very light eczema on her back, arms and tummy and so we’ve found this is perfect to help rebalance her skin.
Its fragrance free (and also vegan and cruelty free!), but it still has that amazing “baby” smell to it... or maybe that’s just me imagining it haha.
Book
Depending on how sleepy Evie is, we like to try and read her a book before bed.
She’s loves the book “That’s Not My Kitten” and like most parents will know, this is one that we read to her over and over again because she just loves it so much!
Boobie and Bed
We’re trying to get Evie into her room at the moment, so once she’s finished her feed, we transfer her into her “big girl bed” aka her cot in her room.
She will sleep for a good couple of hours in her room, however she still manages to creep back into our room around 2am. This is something we need to work on, but I feel so bad for her because she’s teething at the moment. I’m sure we’ll get there in the end, as I’ve said before you’ve just got to do what’s right for you and your little one.
I’d love to hear your nighttime routine and tips below!
Steph
