72 Hours in Berlin: Part Three

It was, sadly, our final day of the 72 hours in Berlin. We'd had such an amazing time - especially my dad revisiting the places that he grew up - that we decided to go back to the iconic Check Point Charlie and East Berlin to catch up on what we had to miss the day before - due to running out of time.

Starting off with a hearty breakfast, we then checked out of our wonderful hotel (Holiday Inn, Alexander Platz) and make our way back on to the hop-on-hop-off bus - seeing as we didn't have to be picked up until 3pm.

Finding perfect Christmas gifts at #EtsyMadeLocal

From my custom G/T disc necklace to my grey 'wifey' t-shirt, it's safe to say that I am a HUGE fan of Etsy and all of the beautiful, hand crafted products and unique sellers that they have on their website.

So when I saw one of my friends posting about attending the Nottingham event of Esty Made Local*, I was gutted to realise that I be visiting my beloved Manchester that week to see the Christmas markets.

However, it's not just my lovely little Nottingham that is hosting this wonderful event - sadly there's not one happening in Manchester - but you can find them in other major cities like Leeds, Birmingham and Cardiff are to name a few (click here all locations).

72 hours in Berlin: Part Two

Waking up feeling refreshed from a great nights sleep, we were ready to take on the sights of Berlin. We had booked one of the hop-on hop-off style buses online (as it was much cheaper to do so) for £17 we were able to see all of the Berlin visitor attractions.

72 hours in Berlin: Part One

Waking up for a super early morning flight (aka 3:00am) is not an ideal way to start the day, but this was one flight that I was stupidly excited to take...

A long time ago, my amazing dad was raised and lived in Berlin with my grandparents, aunty and uncle. He live on an army barracks, as my grandad was a sergeant major and left when he was 6 years old to come back to the UK.

A Barge Adventure Along Foxton Locks

In all honesty, if you would have even approached me to say, "Hey Steph, fancy a travel adventure on a barge?" I would have thought how random.

But when my husband seriously asked me about this and I began to ponder the the question. I soon realised how quintessentially British it was. Exploring the canals set alongside idyllic countryside is like sometime you would see in Wind in the Willlows or Beatrix Potter; and as someone who is always up for a new travel experience, here begins our journey along Foxton Locks.
