Pool side lunch at the Hilton Diagonal | Barcelona

A sunny day in Barcelona called for one thing and one thing only... a pool bar. Not just any pool bar, but the luxurious Puro Beach at the Hilton Diagonal Mar.

Highly recommended by my bestie IntheFrow from her previous visit to Barcleona, we made our way here to enjoy an afternoon of sunshine and cocktails by the pool.

My Summer Carry-On Essentials

With more travel adventures lined up for this year, it's only a matter of weeks before I embark on #ETLEgypt. But before this epic adventure can begin, I need to contemplate the short and long haul flats that are coming my way.

I'm actually a pretty nervous flyer and so making myself as comfortable as possible before flying is essential for me to have a relaxing flight.

Summer evening walks in the city

As the summer time light and warmth kicks in, I love nothing more than relaxing in the evening with a walk through the city. I was a big fan of this when I also used to live in Manchester - exploring different routes and places to wind down after a hard day in the office.

No matter how big or small a city, I always believe that there is "your" beautiful place hidden within it. In Manchester, this was walking along the canal towards Castlefield or Salford Quays. In Nottingham, this is down the waterfront, up by the castle and into "The Park" (an affluent part of Nottingham that hosts some of the most beautiful old houses I've ever seen).

So with my comfy Nikes on I made my way into the city.

Tapas and Sangria in Barcelona

Whilst staying in Barcleona, we had to take advantage of their local dishes. So what a better way to close the first day of my hen/bachelorette party, than to go for tapas and sangria with my girls.

Excited from a long day in the sun, we all came back to our hostel to freshen up and get ready for our evening meal, as we were going to Cachitos, a tapas restaurant located towards the top of Rambla de Catalunya - close to the Passeig de Gracia metro stop.

We decided to walk, as it only took 15 minutes from our location, through the busy and beautiful streets to admire the architecture.

San Francisco Must-Sees on a Budget

If you were to ask me a place that I would want to live in America,  I would 100% say San Francisco. From the Golden Gate Bridge to Alcatraz Island, this iconic city houses some of the most beautiful scenery that I have ever seen.

First of all you've got to find your self a place to stay, The Guardian have a top 10 list of budget hotels and hostels to stay at in San Francisco.
