I'm in, I'm in...I hear you scream - then here's how it works.

Yo! Mama: Lunch Date at Yo Sushi

In case I haven't mentioned it before, I'm obsessed with the popular Japanese food of sushi! It is by far one of my favourite things to eat and Yo!Sushi is certainly one of my favourite places to pick up a fresh and quick lunch.
With an abundance of freshly cooked food coming around on the belt, Yo! is a great place to go for lunch as you can sit in or get food to takeaway.

Since it was introduced to me by one of my best friends from Wigan, over the years I have roped in numerous friends to develop a love this for this Japanese food chain: I even found their first American branch in Washington DC on travels last year.

3 Budget Supermarkets / Grocery Stores in America

Last summer I embarked on a four month trip around North and Central America, and like all of my travelling experiences it was pretty epic.

As I am sure most travelers will agree, when it comes to buying food it’s important to stick within your budgets. From eating at famed restaurants to trying tasty local street food, I tried it all in America – with my favourite being hot dogs with mustard and ketchup in New York.

However, from time to time it was nice to head to the local supermarket/grocery store and actually make our own meals and it’s also a great way try local produce and save money on taxes and tips in restaurants – especially if you cook in a big group of people.

In America there are a number of good organic grocery/supermarkets such as Whole Foods. As well as a number of local farmers markets that have an amazing collection of fresh and home grown products. But one thing I found was that the fresh fruit and vegetables, compared to UK prices, were much more expensive.

Therefore, if you are on a small or strict budget, then here are three cheap supermarket / grocery stores that are great for travelers on a budget.

Winter Time Travel Beauty

The spectacular Northern Lights, or Polar Lights as some people also call them, is definitely a must-see place for me and my fiancĂ©e. Who could resist those astronomically magical skies lit up by Mother Nature herself.

However, to visit this you must endure chilly temperatures of around minus 40c.We all know that cold climates can be harsh on your skin and hair, which can lead to potential issues such as dry and sensitive skin when exploring a new chilly city.

Visit Manchester: Must See Sites, Whatever Your Mood

As most of you know, I lived in Manchester for a long period of time and it was one of the best times of my life. Manchester is such a vibrant city and it has so much to offer people visiting it.

From unique bars and restaurants to crazy hidden statues; I often go back to Manchester to visit some of my closest friends, including the sexy @inthefrow, for a good old catch up and explore around the city.

But I thought I would create a little section on what to see and do based on popular preferences. I could however go on and on about this, but I will restrain myself to four key areas.

For the Sports Fan

The Football Museum, Old Trafford football stadium, Chill Factore, the water sports centre at Salford Quays...the list of sporting activities and tours to see and do in Manchester is endless.

Personally, I loved visiting the water sports centre down in Salford Quays – each Sunday they had an event on that was always fun to watch (and it’s close to the Old Trafford Ground if you wanted to combine the two).

Also, if you're in the Trafford area of Manchester and you love your snowboarding or skiing then I would definitely head over to the Trafford Centre and pay a visit to the Chill Factor-e.

For the History Buff

Manchester is full of old historic buildings, such as the beautiful town hall and the John Rylands Library (which is seriously like something from Harry Potter). Another great historical place to visit is the underground city/caves tours of Manchester – if you do opt for this make sure you book in advance as it always sells out.

Also, make sure that you pay a visit to the Mr Thomas Chop House – serving up amazing homemade British food in one of the oldest (and smallest) pubs in the world.

For the Shop-a-Holic

Well, what can I say... If you love to shop, then you have come to the right place. From the hustle and bustle of Market Street and the Arndale Centre (the main Manchester city centre highstreet) to the giant Primark store (the biggest one in the world) to the rather fancy Selfridges and Harvey Nicks store... and let’s not forget the humongous Trafford Centre. In short Manchester is a shopping paradise.

For the Vintage-Lover

If you love retro clothing and home wear dating back to the 1930s, then you need to visit the renowned Northern Quarter of Manchester. Here you will find huge range of vintage stores to suit any retro taste – for fab retro furniture, make sure that you pay a visit to Pop Boutique.

The Manchester 411:

So if all my ranting and raving about Manchester has convinced you to take a trip, then here's a little more information or should I say the 411 on Manchester.

Places to Stay: Manchester has so many great places to stay that can also fit any mood. Accor hotels also have a selection of hotels in Manchester here*.

Information: For more information on things to see and do in Manchester then you can recommend visiting the Visit Mcr Website.

Whats On & Offers: When living in Manchester I always had a sneak peak at the Manchester Confidential which lists all the events and offers for things in Manchester.

3 Alternative Winter Weekend Getaways

The festive season is well and truly over and a new year has begun. Which means lots of new and exciting travel adventures are waiting for you. However, if like me, you all ate, drank and spend a little too much over the holiday period; the notion of planning a summer getaway seems like forever and a day until it arrives.

Therefore, I always think it is a great idea to take a cheap and cheerful weekend away somewhere to help refresh those worn our winter batteries. So, I have gathered some delightful little places, to suit a variety of tastes and potentially where I will/would like to be taking a winter weekend away in.

Winter Sun and Fun in Cancun, Mexico

Whilst settling back into UK life, today I saw an advertisement in a magazine that instantly catapulted me back to my adventures around Central America last Summer (#etlCA).
Similar to this image from Visit Mexico, it was an advert promoting things to see and do in Cancun and it got me thinking...if you have had enough of the chilly ad rainy weather in the UK, then you need to book a trip and go to have fun in Cancun, Mexico.

Not matter what your age, I can guarantee that Cancun is a place with something for everyone and here is a list of my top three places that you can visit in Cancan depending on your travel preferences.
