#ETLCA: Travelling Belize City, Caye Caulker and San Ignacio

After taking the overnight bus from Mexico City and crossing the border, we paid our 300 pesos to leave the country (you can also pay in American Dollars and their is a bank at the border) and arrived at the Belize City bus station to be greeted by a load of taxi and tour guides trying to sell us tickets to Caye Caulker.

Travel Note: if you're looking to go to Caye Caulker straight away then these guys are your best bet. Negotiate with them on a good price to the water taxi stop - this is a 5-10 minute ride away  so don't pay any more than 7-10 Belize dollar each. They will also give you prices in American dollars, but again ask or it in Belize as you will get a better rate.

Around the world in 80 football grounds - A cheap and easy way to get to the Estadio Azteca (Club América v Puebla)

Being a passionate football fan (or soccer as I reluctantly had to refer to it a couple of times in the US!) I love adding an extra dimension to my travelling by visiting a new ground to see a football match wherever possible. Having visited some of the famous grounds of the Camp Nou, San Siro, Allianz Arena, Wembley and the City Ground (Nottingham Forest are my team!) I have been able to experience some amazing matches and atmospheres.

I am currently travelling around the USA and Central America with my girlfriend (Miss Eat Travel Love) and will seize every opportunity I can to drag her to the electric atmospheres and samba football

Wanderlust Fashion: Winter Boots

Come rain or shine, winter boots are a must have item for me. Especially when I'm taking a weekend trip to one of my favourite European cities...and I have no doubt that a boot purchase of some kind will be made during my trip around America.

The Perfect Proposal on Caye Caulker, Belize

For the majority of you who follow me on Twitter, then you will know that I got engaged recently whilst exploring the island of Caye Caulker in Belize

I've been with my fiancée for over eight years now and I couldn't be happier. He's been the person I have done the majority of my travelling with and is the one who always pushes me to try new and crazy things when on our travel adventures. He's my world and the main reason I love to travel.

So when he popped the question whilst we lay in the hammocks watching the pink and purple sunset over Caye Caulker, I immediately said yes.

I thought I would share some of the stunning pictures of that sunset with you all.

#ETLCA: Travelling Tijuana, Mexico City and Cancun

Leaving San Diego at 7pm we took a Tefusa bus for $15 over the boarder and into Tijuana. Crossing the border was a very strange experience as the border officials pretty much waved us through without any kind of thourough inspection, like we were used to on the United States.

Once we were all clear to go, we simply got back on the bus and continued to the airport in Tijuana.

Travel Stop One: Tijuana

I can't really count Tijuana as a first travel stop as we decided that we would give the lively world of TJ a miss and head for a hotel close to the airport as the next day we were flying to Mexico City with Volaris airlines. But I will tell you what I experienced in the 24 hours that I was there...

Travel learning curve:

One thing I would highly recommend before coming to Mexico is to learn basic Spanish so that you can barter with taxi drivers and street sellers on transport, tours, food etc. We paid $15 to take a 10 minute taxi ride which we were told should have been around $5 maximum.

Have a "Very" Merry Christmas | Secret Santa Blogger Alert!

And so it begins...as streets throughout the world are being filled with twinkling lights, trees are being purchased and those legendary Christmas adverts are starting to air on our televisions, as we all count down to one of the most celebrated religious days of the year! Christmas!

Each year me and my friends from around the UK choose to do a Secret Santa to the value of £10, as this is a great way for us not to go OTT and to have a little bit of fun. No doubt some of you will have already began participating in this at work or with friends...I know I have.

This is why I was so delighted to be apart of the online brand, Very.co.uk, Secret Santa Blogger Challenge (follow #VerySecretSanta for more info.)

Lucha Libre Mexican Wrestling: How to do it without a tour

As this is my first time to Mexico and Mexico City, I was a little sceptical at first. I'd read numerous articles on petty crime and theft against tourists or "gringos" as you may be called.

So when my boyfriend suggested that we go to the Arena Mexico to watch Lucha Libre (Mexican Wrestling) without a tour, I thought he had gone insane. Reading forums feeds on trip advisor there were very mixed reviews about the neighbourhood and area. However, it turns out that the negative reviews are mainly written by the tour companies themselves in a bid to get you on board with them.

Snowboarding in New Zealand: Cardrona Resort

From my university days of working for the surf/snowboard brand, Roxy, I have always been in love with the laid back, bohemian culture that surrounds these sports and so when visiting New Zealand we made sure that a snowboarding trip was defiantly on the cards.

When staying at Lake Wanaka on the South Island of New Zealand, we were told by fellow travelers about a number of good destinations to snowboard. As you can see from the map below the South Island of New Zealand is not short of a few good ski/snowboarding locations.

Farmers Market : Pier One San Francisco

Over the years I have seen countless movies and read a number of travel articles that talk about farmers markets in the US. In England, we have daily markets spread throughout the country, but I had never seen one quite as spectacular like this. (Or maybe I'm just missing something and need to be more observant.
