Hidden Manchester: Urban Garden Festival

As the sun was shining in Manchester (for a change) me and one of my very best friends decided to take a walk into the city and do some pre-travelling shopping.

When walking through the Victoria station area of Manchester, we discovered two giant balloon followers and as we got a little closer from the Manchester Cathedral we saw that it was actually a cute little urban garden festival called Dig The City.

Running from the 3rd-11th of August throughout Manchester's city center, the festival hosts a combination of good outdoor BBQ food, plants and garden ideas for us folks who live in the city!

As we walked around we found a lot of stands to do with how to landscape our garden or lack of garden through cute inspiration ideas for people large or Juliet balconies.

But now, for the important factor the yummy cocktails on offer...we sat in the most adorable tent. Decked out with bunting, hay barrels, fresh flowers and wooden rustic furniture. Listening to the live band, we enjoyed an orange and passion fruit prosecco cocktail (£6.00) from the Spritzer Bar in Exchange Square.

Overall, it was a lovely afternoon and well worth a visit. So if you're in Manchester from August 3-11th then visit Dig The City at www.digthecity.co.uk or check out my lovely work friends blog, Well I Guess This Is Growing Up, to see what she also thought of the event.
