Merry Christmas: The Manchester Christmas Markets
I have lived in the wonderful world of Manchester now for six years, and each year I have had the delight in hosting one of the biggest Christmas Markets in the UK.
Since first arriving in 1998 the Manchester Christmas German Markets started off as 17 stalls in St Annes Square and were hosted by the Council of FrankFurt . Thirteen years on the markets now spread throughout the city centre of Manchester.
Manchester’s German Christmas Markets are now located in Albert Square, Brazenose Street, Kings Street, New Cathedral Street, Exchange Square and it’s original home, St Ann’s Square. With an array of over 200 stunningly unique stalls specialising in arts, craft, jewellery, clothing, accessories and the most important thing (well for me anyway) the European food and drink.
From a fruity mulled wine to sweet and tasty crepes to traditional German ales to warm hog roasts to flavoursome cheeses. If you love food and drink, the Manchester German Christmas Markets have it all.
For me, I love nothing more than seeing these beautiful markets arrive each year and light up the Manchester streets, adding Christmas cheer everywhere.
Eat-Travel-Love: Merry Christmas
For Christmas isn't about spending a lot of money or having the latest mobile phone, it's about me and the people that I love. If that's your family, friend(s) a pet or a plant.
I would like to wish you all a very Merry Christmas, please be safe and share the love and have a even greater new year. I will see you all in 2012.
